How it plays

How does Star Wars: Episode I - Racer play?

The game uses a third-person view behind the podracer. Players steer through multi-lap courses, accelerate, brake, avoid hazards, and manage the condition of the pod's two engines. Damage to an engine can reduce performance and may require repairs during a race.

The main tournament progresses through increasingly difficult events on several planets. Finishing races earns credits that can improve engine power, cooling, turning, and acceleration. Single-race and time-trial-style options provide additional ways to practice or compete.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Star Wars: Episode I - Racer?

Learn each track before pursuing the best tournament result. Safe lines through corners are usually more valuable than maximum speed, especially on courses with jumps or narrow barriers.

Upgrade engine performance first, then improve turning and cooling as the events become more demanding. Watch both engine damage meters and use repair opportunities rather than continuing with a failing engine.
