Button strength affects normal attacks and is also used in special-move commands.
The exact command for a special move depends on the selected character.
Two-player controls use the same SNES buttons with the second controller.
How it plays
Matches are presented from a side-view perspective, with two fighters facing each other in single-screen arenas. The objective is to win rounds by reducing the opponent's vitality before the timer expires.
Players choose from eight original World Warriors and four boss characters. Each fighter has distinct normal attacks, special techniques, strengths, and weaknesses. Victory advances the player through the character's opponent route, while versus mode supports direct matches between two players.
The Turbo setting changes match speed, and the SNES version includes multiple speed levels. Precise movement, blocking, throws, spacing, and command-input special moves form the core progression of play.
Plan your run
Learn the spacing and effective ranges of one main character before switching between the roster. Blocking, walking backward, and controlling the distance often matter more than constantly attacking.
Use normal attacks to create safe pressure, then confirm openings into a special move or throw. Watch the timer and vitality bars, and avoid predictable jumps because grounded anti-air attacks are highly effective.
For difficult computer opponents, patience is valuable: block first, punish recoveries, and use the Turbo speed level that allows consistent command inputs.

Street Fighter II' Turbo: Hyper Fighting is a competitive fighting game developed and published by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is a faster revision of Street Fighter II' Champion Edition, retaining its roster of world warriors while increasing match speed and refining balance. Players select a fighter, travel through a sequence of one-on-one bouts, and use normal attacks, throws, special moves, and Super Nintendo button combinations to defeat opponents. The game was widely received as one of the strongest home versions of Street Fighter II, offering responsive controls and arcade-style competition. Its Turbo speed settings and added character adjustments give experienced players a more demanding and energetic version of the classic formula.
