How it plays
Players move from left to right through four Western stages, defeating enemies and collecting power-ups while avoiding bullets, traps, and environmental hazards. The perspective is a fixed side view, with enemies attacking from the ground, rooftops, windows, and other positions.
Billy and Cormano can walk, jump, shoot in several directions, climb ladders, and perform a quick dash. Each stage ends with a boss encounter, and some stages include short riding or chase sequences. Two players can cooperate simultaneously, but continues and lives are limited by the selected settings.
Plan your run
Use short bursts of fire while advancing, and keep moving whenever enemies appear from multiple elevations. Jumping can avoid some projectiles, but crouching and changing shooting direction are often safer in narrow areas.
Save stronger weapons for crowded sections and bosses. In two-player games, spread out enough to cover different elevations without blocking one another, but regroup before entering boss arenas.

Sunset Riders is a side-scrolling run-and-gun action game developed and published by Konami for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. It places bounty hunters Billy and Cormano in a stylized American West filled with outlaws, bandits, and dangerous bosses. The game combines horizontal shooting, jumping, climbing, and close-range hazards across a compact set of stages. This SNES version is a streamlined adaptation of the arcade game, with two-player support and a smaller selection of stages and playable characters. It was well received for its colorful presentation, responsive controls, comic Western tone, and cooperative arcade-style action.
