How it plays
The main game uses a top-down maze perspective. Bomberman moves through block-filled stages, places bombs, collects power-ups, and reaches the exit after clearing enemies and obstacles. Bomb blasts destroy soft blocks and travel horizontally and vertically until stopped by a hard block or their maximum range.
The campaign is divided into themed areas with multiple stages and boss encounters. Power-ups can increase bomb capacity or blast range and provide additional abilities. Battle Mode places players in enclosed arenas, where the last surviving Bomberman wins.
Plan your run
Use walls and corners to control the direction of each blast, and always keep an escape route open before placing a bomb. Clear soft blocks early so movement becomes less restrictive.
Collect bomb-capacity and blast-range upgrades carefully. In Battle Mode, avoid chasing opponents blindly; place bombs to cut off routes and use chain reactions to pressure them from a safe distance.

Before you begin
Do not place a bomb unless you can identify a safe route away from its blast.
Soft blocks can shield you from explosions, but they can also create traps.
In Battle Mode, chain reactions are more effective when bombs are placed near arena walls.
Super Bomberman is a maze-based action game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Players control Bomberman, placing timed bombs to destroy blocks, defeat enemies, and open routes through compact stages. The game combines careful positioning with fast movement, because explosions travel along straight lines and can easily trap the player. Its main campaign supports one or two players, while Battle Mode provides competitive multiplayer for up to four participants with the appropriate multitap. The game was well received for its simple controls, escalating challenge, and especially its accessible multiplayer design. It helped establish Bomberman as one of the SNES’s most recognizable party-action series.
