How it plays
The main adventure uses a top-down perspective. Bomberman moves through maze-like stages, destroys soft blocks, defeats enemies, collects items, and finds the exit after clearing the required threats.
The world is divided into stages with different layouts and hazards. Bomb explosions travel in the four cardinal directions until blocked, so positioning and timing are central. Power-ups can increase bomb range or capacity and grant abilities such as kicking, punching, or remote detonation.
Battle Mode supports competitive arena matches, including multiplayer with the appropriate Super Multitap accessory. Players eliminate opponents while managing limited space and temporary power-ups.
Plan your run
Start by clearing nearby soft blocks while leaving yourself a safe escape route. Do not place a bomb in a corridor unless you already know where you can move when it detonates.
Prioritize bomb capacity and blast range, then use special abilities carefully. Kicking or punching a bomb can change the layout of an attack, but careless placement can trap Bomberman.
In Battle Mode, avoid fighting in open lanes without cover. Watch opponents' bomb timers and use chain reactions to control exits rather than chasing every power-up.

Super Bomberman 3 is a maze-based action game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Super Nintendo. Players guide Bomberman through destructible environments, placing bombs to defeat enemies, open routes, and collect power-ups. The game combines a structured single-player adventure with competitive battle modes for up to four participants using the Super Multitap. Its bright presentation, expanding bomb abilities, and varied arena layouts make it a distinctive entry in the 16-bit Bomberman series. It was well received for its accessible multiplayer and improved gameplay variety, although its regional availability was more limited than that of some other Super Bomberman releases.
