How it plays
The playfield is viewed from above as a vertical falling-block board. Pieces descend into a grid, and the player moves or positions them before they settle. Matching color groups and bomb pieces are used to create explosions; larger chains clear more space and can place nuisance blocks on the opposing side.
The main progression is a succession of opponent battles, with versus play providing a separate competitive mode. Winning depends on managing the rising stack, preparing chains, and timing explosions before the board becomes full.
Plan your run
Build small setups before committing to a large chain, and keep enough open space to respond to the next pieces. Clearing the center and lower rows is usually safer than allowing a tall stack to develop on one side.
In versus matches, avoid firing every bomb immediately. A delayed chain can clear incoming nuisance blocks and produce a stronger counterattack, while poorly timed explosions may leave the board difficult to rebuild.

Before you begin
Prioritize keeping the stack low over making a risky large chain.
Watch the opponent's board and save a chain for clearing nuisance blocks.
Super Bomberman: Panic Bomber W is a competitive puzzle-action game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Super Nintendo. It adapts the Panic Bomber formula to the Bomberman universe: players arrange falling pieces, connect matching colors, and trigger bomb explosions to clear the playfield. The game emphasizes quick decisions, chain reactions, and sending obstructive blocks to an opponent rather than direct maze combat. Its single-player campaign presents a sequence of battles, while versus play supports head-to-head competition. The title is best known as a Japan-focused Super Famicom release and as an unusual puzzle branch of the Bomberman series.
