Players move individual players, pass, dribble, shoot, tackle, switch defenders, take set pieces, manage the clock and score, and progress through a match or competition. Direct control and ball physics reward quick decisions and accurate positioning more than elaborate scripted plays.

Keep the ball moving, switch defenders before the final pass, avoid forcing a dribble into pressure, and shoot after creating space. Read Japanese mode screens, save before a tournament route if supported, and keep this state separate from other Kick Off releases.
