How it plays

How does Super Robot Taisen EX play?

Battles use a top-down, grid-based perspective. The objective is usually to defeat all enemy units, protect an allied unit, or complete another scenario-specific condition. Units move across terrain, select weapons, and attack from appropriate ranges.

Scenarios are divided into player and enemy phases. Pilots and machines gain experience, while weapons and unit performance can be improved through intermission management. The three protagonist routes provide different maps, allies, and narrative viewpoints.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Super Robot Taisen EX?

Use terrain and weapon range deliberately rather than advancing every unit at once. Keep vulnerable support units behind tougher machines and avoid ending a turn where several enemies can concentrate fire.

Check morale, ammunition, energy, and repair options between scenarios. Prioritize enemy units that can attack from a distance, then finish weakened targets efficiently to preserve resources for stronger encounters.
