Hakkun
The player-controlled creature. Hakkun manipulates colored blocks by absorbing and releasing them while navigating each puzzle stage.
How it plays
Each stage is viewed from the side and combines platforming with environmental puzzles. Hakkun must collect, carry, and eject blocks to create paths, activate mechanisms, or reach otherwise inaccessible areas.
Stages are generally compact, but their solutions depend on conserving useful blocks and choosing the correct order of actions. Progression comes from clearing successive puzzles, with later areas introducing tighter spaces, more hazardous layouts, and less room for mistakes.
Plan your run
Study the whole room before committing to an action, especially when a block can be used only once. Plan where each block must end up, and avoid filling narrow passages prematurely.
When a solution fails, restart early rather than spending time trying to recover a position that has removed an essential resource.

Sutte Hakkun is a puzzle-platform game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo. The player guides Hakkun, a small creature that can absorb and release colored blocks, through compact stages built around positioning, timing, and resource management. Rather than emphasizing combat, the game asks players to manipulate the environment and find a safe route to the goal. Its distinctive mechanics and carefully structured challenges earned it a positive reputation among specialist Super Nintendo enthusiasts. The game first appeared through Nintendo’s Satellaview service, and a later cartridge release made the experience more accessible in Japan. Its simple presentation hides increasingly demanding puzzles that reward experimentation and precise planning.
