How it plays

How does Syndicate play?

The game uses an overhead view of city districts. The main objective is to expand the player’s syndicate by completing operations, controlling territories, earning money, and researching improved weapons and cybernetic equipment.

Missions involve directing a small team of agents through urban environments. Agents can travel, fire weapons, enter vehicles, persuade or control civilians, and eliminate targets. Between missions, the player manages research, finances, taxation, recruitment, and equipment. The SNES version presents a streamlined campaign designed for the console interface.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Syndicate?

Prioritize research that improves agent survivability and weapon effectiveness before expanding too quickly. Keep several agents equipped for different roles rather than giving every operative the same loadout.

Watch civilian and police reactions during missions. Avoid unnecessary confrontations when a controlled civilian or a carefully planned route can reduce resistance. Build income through secure territories, then use that income to maintain a capable research and field team.
