The player views a vertical playfield from the front and controls a cursor spanning two adjacent panels. Swapping panels creates horizontal or vertical matches, which disappear and allow panels above them to fall. Consecutive matches produce chains, while simultaneous matches create combos and clear larger areas.

Story Mode progresses through character battles, with increasingly aggressive opponents and rising panel speeds. Time Trial, Endless, Stage Clear, Puzzle, and Versus modes provide different objectives, including solving fixed layouts and sending nuisance blocks to another player. The central progression mechanic is chain construction under pressure.

Prioritize setups that create a second match after the first clear. Leave compatible panels near the bottom so falling pieces can continue a chain rather than clearing everything immediately.

Watch the rising stack as closely as the cursor. In Versus, quick four- or five-panel clears are useful, but planned chains usually create more damaging garbage. In Puzzle Mode, work backward from the required clear and avoid making irreversible matches too early.
