The Rock
A top WWF main-event wrestler known for powerful strikes, charisma, and the Rock Bottom finisher.
How it plays
Matches are viewed from a third-person perspective around a wrestling ring. Players weaken opponents with strikes and grapples, then use throws, submissions, pin attempts, ring movement, and environmental tactics to win under the selected match rules.
Modes include standard singles and tag matches, title bouts, tournaments, and the branching Quest mode. Wrestlers can be customized with different moves, entrances, attributes, and appearance options, while victories and progression unlock additional content.
Plan your run
Build momentum before attempting a finishing move. Repeatedly using the same attack makes it easier for the opponent to reverse, so vary strikes, grapples, Irish whips, and running attacks.
In longer matches, target damaged body parts and use submissions when the opponent is weakened. Save a finisher for a reliable pin opportunity, and watch the referee position in tag matches before making a cover.

WWF No Mercy is a professional-wrestling sports game developed by AKI Corporation and published by THQ for the Nintendo 64. It combines arcade-style action with a detailed grappling system, allowing players to perform strikes, holds, throws, submissions, taunts, and finishing moves. The game includes exhibition matches, championship competition, tournament-style play, and a story-driven Quest mode built around the WWF roster. Its responsive controls, extensive move customization, and strong multiplayer support made it one of the most highly regarded wrestling games of its generation. Contemporary and retrospective reception has remained especially positive, although the game’s licensed presentation is tied to the WWF era of 2000.
