How it plays
Matches are viewed from a 3D ringside perspective. The objective varies by stipulation, but most bouts are won by pinfall, submission, knockout, or escaping a designated area. Players move around the ring, strike, grapple, Irish whip opponents, climb turnbuckles, use weapons where allowed, and attempt reversals.
The game includes exhibition matches, championship play, tournaments, battle royals, tag matches, and the story-driven WWF Championship mode. Winning matches advances selected scenarios and unlocks additional wrestlers, arenas, costumes, and other content. Damage and momentum affect which attacks and finishing moves can succeed.
Plan your run
Work toward a strong position before attempting a pin. Repeatedly attacking one body region makes related holds more effective, while reckless strikes can leave you open to reversals.
Watch the opponent's momentum and stamina. Save finishing moves for a credible pin opportunity, use environmental weapons only when the stipulation permits them, and learn the timing of grapple reversals. In tag matches, make frequent tags so an exhausted partner does not become an easy target.
