Stay near the center of the ring when possible so an opponent cannot easily force an over-the-rope elimination. Use short attacks to create an opening, then grapple and throw while the opponent is vulnerable.

In Royal Rumble matches, avoid prolonged exchanges near the ropes. Let other wrestlers weaken one another, conserve your position, and attack opponents who are already close to elimination. In tag matches, switch partners regularly to prevent one wrestler from becoming exhausted.
