How it plays
Matches use a side-view fighting perspective. The objective is to reduce an opponent’s health, knock them down, and complete the match through the game’s arcade-style rules.
Players move around the arena, strike with punches and kicks, defend themselves, and use wrestler-specific special attacks. The game is organized around a succession of opponents, with difficulty and challenge increasing as the player advances. Its emphasis is on short matches, timing, attack combinations, and spectacle rather than managing holds, stamina, or a detailed wrestling career.
Plan your run
Learn the timing of each wrestler’s basic attacks before relying on special moves. Stay close enough to pressure the opponent, but watch for the opening after a missed heavy attack.
Use blocking or evasive movement when the opponent begins a long attack sequence. Save opportunities to perform a finisher for moments when the opponent is vulnerable, and practice each character’s command inputs because their attack properties differ.

WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game is an arcade-style fighting game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Midway. It adapts the World Wrestling Federation into a fast, exaggerated brawler rather than a simulation-focused wrestling title. Players choose recognizable WWF wrestlers and battle through matches filled with oversized attacks, environmental gags, and spectacular finishing moves. The Sega 32X version brings the arcade design to Sega’s 32-bit add-on with enhanced audiovisual presentation compared with standard 16-bit releases. Its reception emphasized the energetic presentation and accessible action, while some players found the simplified wrestling mechanics less authentic than a traditional wrestling game. The title is best understood as a character-driven arcade fighter with wrestling imagery and licensed personalities.
