How it plays

How does 64th. Street - A Detective Story play?

The game uses a side-view perspective across a sequence of streets, buildings, and other urban locations. Players move through each stage, defeat groups of criminals, and advance by reaching the next area.

Attacks include punches, kicks, jumps, grabs, throws, and a powerful attack using both buttons. Weapons and objects found in the scenery can be picked up and used. One or two players can play cooperatively, with the final objective being the rescue of the kidnapped girl.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play 64th. Street - A Detective Story?

Use the edges of the screen to limit the number of enemies attacking at once. Prioritize enemies carrying weapons and throw nearby objects when several opponents gather.

Save the powerful attack for crowded encounters or dangerous bosses. In two-player games, avoid standing on opposite sides of the same enemy, since coordinated attacks and throws are safer.
