How it plays

How does China Gate play?

China Gate uses a side-view perspective and linear stage progression. The objective is to move through each area, defeat waves of enemies, and reach the stage boss before continuing to the next section.

Players control a martial-arts fighter, combining ordinary attacks with jumping attacks and movement around the playfield. Enemies can approach from multiple directions, so positioning and timing are important. Cooperative play allows two players to fight through the stages together, while later sections increase enemy pressure and require more careful use of space.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play China Gate?

Stay near the center of the screen so incoming enemies remain visible, but avoid being surrounded. Use jumping attacks to interrupt groups and create space, then return to grounded attacks when enemies are isolated.

Against bosses, prioritize survival over rapid damage. Watch attack patterns, move away from the edge of the screen, and attack during recovery windows. In two-player games, spread out enough to avoid overlapping threats while keeping close enough to help a player who is cornered.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Keep moving when several enemies enter from different sides.

  2. 2

Use jumps to escape crowded situations and to vary your attack timing.
