How it plays

How does Airwolf play?

The player views the battlefield from a scrolling aerial perspective and directly pilots Airwolf through successive combat areas. The main objective is to survive enemy attacks while destroying hostile units and progressing through the mission structure.

Movement is handled in open screen space as enemies and hazards enter the play area. The helicopter's weapons are used continuously during encounters, and progression depends on reaching the end of each section rather than exploring a branching map. The game is primarily a single-player arcade challenge built around limited lives, score, and increasingly demanding combat.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Airwolf?

Stay mobile rather than hovering in one position, because enemies can pressure the helicopter from several directions. Keep the craft positioned where incoming threats are visible and avoid unnecessary exposure to concentrated fire.

Prioritize immediate threats and learn the timing of recurring attack patterns. Because arcade attempts are limited, use early runs to identify enemy entrances and dangerous sections before committing to score-focused play.
