How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective and a sequence of action-platform stages based on scenes from the film. Aladdin must reach the end of each level, survive hazards, collect items, and defeat or avoid enemies.
Players can run, jump, crouch, climb, swing from poles, attack with Aladdin's sword, and throw a limited supply of apples. Stages include streets, rooftops, caves, and the Cave of Wonders, with boss encounters and timed or hazard-heavy sections. Extra lives, gems, and Genie icons support progression, while checkpoints and continues help the player advance through the campaign.
Plan your run
Learn the timing of sword swings before rushing into groups of enemies. Apples are useful for distant or awkward targets, but their supply is limited, so conserve them for threats that are difficult to reach.
Explore above and below the main route for gems, extra lives, and Genie icons. Use crouching and careful jumps around pits, falling objects, and moving platforms; many deaths come from treating the game as a purely fast-moving platformer.

Disney's Aladdin is a 1993 action-platform game developed by Virgin Games for the Sega Genesis. It adapts Disney's animated film into a fast side-scrolling adventure in which Aladdin crosses Agrabah and other film locations while opposing street thugs, wild animals, and Jafar's forces. The game emphasizes responsive movement, sword fighting, and limited apple projectiles rather than complex exploration. Its hand-drawn animation and close visual connection to the film received strong attention at release, and it is widely regarded as one of the more polished 16-bit Disney adaptations. The Genesis version is distinct from the Super Nintendo game, which was developed by Capcom and uses different mechanics and stage designs.
