Blizzard
A powerful white Tyrannosaurus who uses ice-based attacks.
How it plays
The game uses a side-view fighting perspective. Players select a prehistoric combatant and battle through a sequence of one-on-one matches, defeating opponents to reach the final encounters.
Fighters use punches, kicks, throws, special moves, blocks, and character-specific finishing attacks. A dedicated meter is not central to the system; progression comes from winning rounds and advancing through the arcade ladder. Some fighters can also eat smaller creatures that enter the arena, adding health or tactical opportunities.
Plan your run
Learn the spacing and recovery time of your chosen fighter before relying on special moves. Fast characters can punish missed attacks, while heavier fighters are more effective when they control the center of the arena.
Use blocking to withstand predictable attacks, then answer with a throw or a short combo. Save finishing moves for situations where the input is reliable, because repeated attempts can leave you open. Against computer opponents, baiting a jump or a long-range attack is often safer than attacking first.

Primal Rage is a 2D arcade fighting game developed by Probe Entertainment and published by Time Warner Interactive. Set on a post-apocalyptic Earth where civilization has collapsed, it follows giant dinosaurs and apes competing to become the dominant deity of the surviving world. Each fighter has distinct attacks, special moves, fatalities, and finishing techniques, while the presentation emphasizes heavy impacts and dark humor. The Sega Genesis version brings the arcade game to 16-bit hardware with reduced audiovisual detail and some technical compromises. It was generally recognized as a competent home conversion, although the arcade original remained the preferred version for presentation and responsiveness.
