How it plays
The main stages use a side-on perspective. Players move through scrolling environments, defeat alien groups with melee attacks or ranged weapons, collect power-ups, and reach the stage boss. The campaign contains several playable characters and supports one- or two-player cooperative play.
Interspersed shooting sections switch to a first-person viewpoint. Players aim at aliens and environmental targets while managing limited attack opportunities. Progression is stage-based rather than experience-driven, and success depends on positioning, weapon use, and conserving special attacks.
Plan your run
Use the edges of the screen to control enemy approach, then attack groups before they surround you. Jump over crowded formations and reserve special attacks for dense waves or bosses.
In two-player games, avoid striking the same target from opposite sides unless it is already stunned. During shooting stages, fire deliberately and prioritize enemies that are closest to attacking or leaving the screen.

Alien Storm is a 1991 action game developed by Sega AM2 and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It combines side-scrolling beat 'em up combat with run-and-gun shooting stages, following a small team of alien hunters defending Earth from an invasion. Players choose among three characters with different weapons and fighting styles, then battle through urban streets and other infested locations. The Genesis version adapts the arcade design into a console campaign with cooperative play. Critics generally regarded it as a competent, energetic follow-up to Sega's arcade action games, although its shorter length and repetitive combat limited its impact compared with stronger genre entries.
