Shinbu
A fast weapon user who favors quick strings and mid-range pressure.
How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective and pits two fighters against each other in single-round or multi-round arcade bouts, depending on the cabinet settings. The objective is to reduce the opponent's life bar before time expires.
Players move, jump, guard, attack with several weapon strengths, and perform character-specific special techniques. Arcade progression normally leads through a sequence of rival battles, with the final encounters providing the main challenge. Precise spacing, attack timing, and knowledge of each fighter's reach are central to success.
Plan your run
Learn the range and recovery of each normal attack before relying on special moves. Weapon reach can control the center of the arena, but attacks that miss may leave the fighter open.
Use short movement and defensive reactions to punish unsafe attacks. Practice a small set of reliable attacks and one or two confirmed follow-ups rather than attempting difficult techniques at random.

Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty is a 2D arcade fighting game developed and published by Fuuki in 1998. It presents weapon-based one-on-one battles in a dark fantasy world, with fighters using swords and supernatural techniques rather than conventional martial arts alone. Matches are built around direct arcade play: select a warrior, defeat opponents through successive bouts, and use normal attacks, special moves, and defensive timing to control space. The game received attention from fighting-game enthusiasts for its distinctive artwork, weapon combat, and unusual fantasy atmosphere, although its limited distribution kept it less widely known than major genre releases.
