How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. Players move from left to right through stages, defeating groups of ninjas, soldiers, animals, and larger bosses before reaching the end-of-stage encounter.
Players can walk, jump, crouch, punch, kick, and use limited special attacks. Levels contain hazards and occasional weapons or power-ups, while progression is based on clearing each fixed stage rather than gaining character levels. One-player and two-player cooperative modes are available.
Plan your run
Stay near the center of the screen so incoming enemies can be approached without being trapped at an edge. Use jumping attacks against clustered enemies, then crouch or move away when several opponents surround you.
Save special attacks for dense groups and bosses. In two-player mode, keep the fighters on opposite sides of an enemy group only when both players can retreat; careless separation makes one character vulnerable to off-screen attacks.

Bad Dudes vs. Dragonninja is a side-scrolling arcade beat 'em up developed and published by Data East in 1988. Players take the roles of Blade and Striker, street fighters recruited to rescue President Ronnie after his kidnapping by the DragonNinja organization. The game emphasizes close-range combat, jumping, crouching, and limited special attacks across compact urban and wilderness stages. Its two-player cooperative format, exaggerated martial-arts presentation, and memorable opening question made it a recognizable late-1980s arcade title. Reception was generally favorable for its straightforward action and cooperative play, although critics also noted its simple mechanics and demanding difficulty. The game later appeared on several home systems, but the arcade version remains the reference edition for its original pacing and presentation.
