How it plays
The game uses a top-down perspective. Prince Ali explores forests, caves, ruins, lakes, and palaces while searching for spirits, keys, treasures, and routes toward the final confrontation.
Combat is real time. Ali can strike with his armlet, evade enemies, use weapons and items, and summon spirits with specialized abilities. Progression is based mainly on new equipment, health and magic resources, and access to abilities that open previously unreachable paths.
Plan your run
Explore every side path before leaving an area. Chests and hidden passages often provide healing items, weapons, or spirit-related advantages.
Use each spirit for the situations it suits best. Dytto is valuable for recovery, while Efreet and Dao are particularly useful when enemy groups or environmental obstacles demand strong offensive power.
Conserve limited weapons for difficult encounters, learn enemy attack patterns, and keep healing items available before entering guardian battles.

Save powerful weapons for bosses and crowded rooms.
Beyond Oasis is an action role-playing game developed by Treasure and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis in 1994. It follows Prince Ali, who discovers the Golden Armlet and becomes responsible for defending Oasis from the wielder of its rival, the Silver Armlet. The game combines real-time melee combat, exploration, environmental puzzles, and light character progression rather than traditional menu-driven battles. Players travel through a connected fantasy world, acquire elemental spirits, and use their abilities to reach new areas and defeat guardians. Its responsive combat, colorful presentation, and inventive use of summoned spirits earned it a positive historical reputation, especially among late-generation Genesis action games.
