Bomberman
The playable bomber who navigates each arena, places bombs, collects power-ups, and survives the blast patterns.
How it plays
The game uses a top-down perspective. Each stage is a maze of solid blocks, destructible blocks, enemies, and passages; the objective is generally to clear threats and reach the exit after opening a route through the arena.
Bomberman moves through the grid, places bombs, and waits for their cross-shaped explosions to resolve. Chain reactions can destroy several blocks or bombs at once, but explosions also harm the player. Power-ups found in stages improve bomb effects or mobility, supporting progression through increasingly demanding arenas.
Plan your run
Use walls and corners to control the direction of each explosion, and avoid placing a bomb without a clear escape route.
Open paths cautiously. Chain reactions are useful for clearing dense areas, but they can also create an unexpectedly long blast. Collect power-ups when they can be reached safely, then use the enlarged blast range to control corridors from a distance.
Meet the cast
The playable bomber who navigates each arena, places bombs, collects power-ups, and survives the blast patterns.
Before you begin
Always secure an escape path before placing a bomb.
Use chain reactions to clear blocks, but watch the timing of every bomb.
Treat newly opened corridors as dangerous until all explosions have ended.
Bomber Man World is a 1992 arcade action game developed and published by Irem. It uses the Bomberman formula: the player guides Bomberman through maze-like arenas, places timed bombs, destroys blocks, and defeats enemies while avoiding the blast radius. The game is structured as a sequence of compact stages rather than a story-heavy adventure, with power-ups providing temporary or permanent improvements to bomb range and carrying capacity. Its presentation and mechanics reflect early-1990s arcade design, emphasizing quick restarts and immediate control. It is recognized as an arcade-focused Bomberman spin-off, although detailed regional release and reception records are limited.
