How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. Players move through linear stages, defeat groups of enemies, collect temporary weapons, and reach a boss at the end of each area.
Each hero has different speed, reach, strength, and special-move characteristics. Progression is stage-based rather than experience-based; success depends on conserving health, using pickups effectively, and coordinating attacks in multiplayer.
Plan your run
Control crowds before they surround you, and use throws or knockdowns to interrupt dangerous enemies. Save powerful weapons and special attacks for dense groups or bosses.
In cooperative play, spread across the screen without separating too far. Learn enemy attack patterns, prioritize ranged or fast enemies, and avoid wasting health on unnecessary trades.

Captain Commando is a 1991 science-fiction beat 'em up developed and published by Capcom for arcade systems. Players guide Captain Commando or one of three allied heroes through a futuristic version of Metro City, fighting criminals, mutants, robots, and other enemies with punches, weapons, and special attacks. The game supports cooperative play for up to four players, depending on the arcade cabinet, and emphasizes short stages, enemy management, and boss battles. Its comic-book presentation, distinctive characters, and varied weapons helped it earn a strong reputation among Capcom arcade brawlers, although it was less widely recognized than Final Fight or Streets of Rage.
