How it plays

How does Comix Zone play?

The game uses a side-view perspective. Sketch progresses through comic-book panels, fighting enemies, jumping across hazards, climbing, and interacting with objects while searching for a route through each page.

Punches, kicks, jumps, thrown objects, and Roadkill’s assistance form the core of combat. Players can collect items, choose paths through some panels, and manage health and resources. The adventure is divided into three issues, each containing branching panel routes and a major boss encounter.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Comix Zone?

Conserve health items and avoid trading hits whenever possible. Learn enemy patterns, use kicks to control distance, and exploit the edges of platforms rather than rushing into groups.

Explore alternate panel routes when you can. Roadkill is useful for distracting enemies and revealing opportunities, while bombs and other limited items are best saved for bosses or crowded encounters.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use the comic-panel layout to look for alternate routes and hidden pickups.

  2. 2

Do not waste limited items on ordinary enemies when regular attacks are safe.

  3. 3

Practice boss patterns; the game’s limited continues make careless damage costly.
