How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. The player moves through urban stages, shoots criminals and machines, jumps across platforms, climbs ladders, and defeats a boss at the end of each area.
Early stages use the standard police outfit. After progressing through the game, the powered ESWAT armor adds stronger equipment and changes the character's combat capabilities. Players must manage enemy patterns, hazards, and limited opportunities to continue.
Plan your run
Learn enemy placement and avoid rushing into groups, especially when approaching ladders and narrow platforms.
Use vertical movement to create safe firing positions, preserve continues for later stages, and study each boss before committing to close-range attacks.
Meet the cast

Before you begin
The powered suit substantially changes survivability and weapon strength, so focus on reaching it safely.
Watch for enemies above and below the main path; the side-scrolling camera does not always reveal threats early.
Boss patterns are generally safer to learn from a distance before attempting aggressive attacks.
ESWAT: Cyber Police is a 1989 arcade action game developed and published by Sega. It combines side-scrolling platforming with run-and-gun combat, placing the player in the role of a police officer fighting organized crime and mechanized enemies in a futuristic city. The game begins with a lightly equipped officer and later provides a powered suit that improves protection and firepower. Its stage-based structure emphasizes short combat encounters, vertical movement, and boss battles rather than exploration. The arcade release was recognized for its striking cyberpunk presentation and responsive action, although its difficulty and limited continues made it demanding for inexperienced players.
