10 playable fighters
The game features 10 distinct fighters, each with their own weapon, move set, and fatal techniques.
How it plays
Fights take place on a single two-dimensional plane with health bars and timed rounds. The objective is to defeat the opposing fighter by reducing their health before the round timer expires.
The main progression is a sequence of matches against computer-controlled opponents. Players must move, jump, attack, block or evade, and exploit openings. A separate two-player mode is available for local versus play when supported by the game setup.
Plan your run
Learn the range and recovery time of your basic attacks before attempting long strings. Stay near the edge of the opponent’s effective range, punish missed attacks, and avoid jumping repeatedly.
In tournament play, prioritize survival over trading blows. Watch the timer when ahead, but keep attacking when behind so the opponent cannot safely defend until time expires.
Meet the cast

Before you begin
Use short attacks to test an opponent’s distance before committing to a larger exchange.
Defensive movement is safer than repeated jumping against computer opponents.
Deadly Moves is a side-view fighting game developed by Kaneko and published by Sammy Corporation for the Sega Genesis. The player controls a martial artist competing through a sequence of one-on-one bouts, with training and tournament-style progression forming the core premise. Matches focus on close-range attacks, jumps, defensive movement, and learning each opponent’s patterns. The game belongs to the early-1990s wave of console fighting games that followed the popularity of Street Fighter II, but it has a smaller roster and simpler presentation. Contemporary and later coverage generally treated it as an obscure, technically limited entry rather than a major genre landmark.
