How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. The player moves through linear stages, jumps across platforms, avoids hazards, and shoots enemies approaching from both sides. Each stage ends with a major confrontation or demanding set piece.
The main objective is to reach the end of every level while preserving health and lives. Weapon pickups and temporary power-ups improve offensive ability, but progression is primarily stage-based rather than dependent on character statistics. The Genesis version supports single-player play.
Plan your run
Learn enemy positions and avoid rushing into groups, especially when approaching hazards or bosses.
Conserve stronger weapons for bosses and dense enemy formations. Search the route for power-ups, but do not take unnecessary damage trying to collect them.

Doom Troopers is a 1995 run-and-gun action game developed by Adrenalin Entertainment and published by Playmates Interactive Entertainment for the Sega Genesis. It is based on the Mutant Chronicles setting and follows heavily armed soldiers battling hostile mutants and supernatural forces. The game combines side-scrolling platform movement with constant shooting, hazards, and boss encounters. Players guide one of two combatants through dangerous stages, collecting weapons and power-ups while trying to conserve lives and ammunition. Its dark comic-book presentation and fast action gave it a distinctive identity, although contemporary reception was mixed because of uneven difficulty and occasional control issues.
