Son Goku
A powerful Saiyan hero who combines strong close-range attacks with versatile energy techniques.
How it plays
Fights use a side-view arena with separate ground and aerial movement. Each character can punch, kick, guard, dash, fly, and use special energy attacks when enough power is available.
Story mode presents a sequence of battles connected to the Bojack conflict. Versus and tournament modes allow direct matches with selectable fighters. Victory depends on reducing the opponent's life, managing energy, changing distance, and choosing the right moment to attack or defend.
The game emphasizes spacing: fighters can retreat to long range, charge energy, and exchange projectiles before closing in for physical attacks. Character speed, reach, energy techniques, and defensive options differ across the roster.
Plan your run
Learn the distance at which each fighter's special attacks connect, then use projectiles to control the opponent's movement. Do not spend all of the energy bar immediately; retaining energy gives you a threat at long range and allows defensive choices.
Use blocking when the opponent is close enough to attack, and avoid repeatedly jumping without a purpose. After a missed projectile or heavy attack, move in quickly to punish the recovery. In story mode, adapt your approach to each opponent rather than relying on one attack pattern.

Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden 2 is a one-on-one fighting game developed by TOSE and published by Bandai for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Based on the Dragon Ball Z universe, it focuses on martial-arts battles between heroes and villains, including the mysterious warrior Bojack and his Galaxy Soldiers. Matches take place across wide arenas that allow fighters to move horizontally and, in many situations, fly across the screen. The game offers a story-driven mode, versus play, and tournament-style battles. It was well received in Japan for its large roster, fast pacing, colorful presentation, and dramatic long-range energy attacks. It remains one of the more respected Dragon Ball games on the 16-bit platform.
