How it plays

How does Eternal Champions play?

Fights take place in side-view arenas with one player facing a computer opponent or another player. The objective is to win rounds by depleting the opponent's life bar before the timer expires.

Players walk, jump, crouch, block, and use character-specific normal and special attacks. Each arena contains hazards that can affect either fighter, and some matches allow environmental attacks or finishing techniques.

The main progression is a tournament path through successive opponents, with the final goal of earning the chance to alter the character's fate. Versus play supports direct matches between players.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Eternal Champions?

Learn the reach and recovery of one fighter before expanding the roster. Safe attacks and careful blocking are more reliable than repeatedly using special moves.

Watch the arena as closely as the opponent. Hazards can damage either fighter, so positioning near interactive areas should be deliberate.

Save powerful attacks for openings after a missed move, jump, or blocked sequence. In the tournament, study each opponent's timing and avoid rushing into unfamiliar specials.
