Mickey Mouse
The Sorcerer's Apprentice and player character. Mickey searches the elemental worlds for the stolen musical notes.
How it plays
Fantasia is viewed from the side. The objective is to move through four elemental areas, locate and collect the missing musical notes, defeat or avoid enemies, and reach the end of each stage.
Mickey can walk, jump across platforms, and use magical attacks against threats. Stages contain hazards, vertical sections, and collectible objects that make careful exploration important. Progression is based primarily on completing the themed areas and recovering the notes rather than on a branching map or character upgrades.
Plan your run
Take time to learn enemy patterns before advancing, especially near narrow platforms and moving hazards. Avoid rushing through unfamiliar sections, since missed notes and damage can make later parts of a stage more difficult.
Use magic selectively and keep a safe position when enemies approach. Explore upper and lower routes when possible, but prioritize survival over collecting every item in a dangerous jump.

Fantasia is a side-scrolling action platformer developed by Infogrames and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis in 1991. It adapts Disney's Fantasia by placing Mickey Mouse in the role of the Sorcerer's Apprentice, tasked with recovering magical music notes scattered across elemental worlds. The game combines traditional platforming with light combat and collectible hunting. Mickey travels through stages themed around earth, water, air, and fire, using jumps and magic to overcome enemies and hazards. Its Disney license and colorful presentation attracted attention, but contemporary and later commentary commonly criticized the uneven controls, difficult navigation, and limited polish. It is generally regarded as a minor licensed Genesis release rather than a standout platformer.
