How it plays
Matches are viewed from an angled overhead perspective. The objective is to score more goals than the opposing team before full time, while defending space and regaining possession.
Players can pass, shoot, tackle, sprint, and change the controlled footballer. The game includes exhibition-style matches, league competition, tournaments, and a full season structure. Results and progress depend on team selection and performance rather than character upgrades.

FIFA Soccer 95 is an association-football simulation developed by Extended Play Productions and published by EA Sports for the Sega Genesis. It follows FIFA International Soccer and expands the series with club teams, national sides, league play, tournaments, and a larger roster of selectable squads. Matches use a top-down isometric perspective, with direct control of the player carrying the ball and automatic switching when possession changes. The game emphasizes passing, shooting, tackling, and positioning rather than arcade-style power-ups. Its Genesis presentation was well received for offering a substantial football experience on a home console, although the controls and computer-controlled players can feel demanding by modern standards. It remains an important early entry in EA's FIFA lineage.
