How it plays
Explore the World of Balance and World of Ruin from a top-down perspective, visiting towns, crossing the overworld, and entering dungeons such as Narshe, Figaro Castle, Zozo, and the Floating Continent. Story events divide the adventure into directed chapters, while the later World of Ruin allows more freedom in recruiting characters and recovering equipment.
Battles use Active Time Battle gauges. Choose commands such as Fight, Item, and each character’s special ability, then use weapons, armor, relics, magic, Espers, and level growth to improve the party. The main game is single-player, with limited second-player control available during battles when enabled through the controller setup.
Plan your run
Use relics to specialize party members and keep a balanced group of physical attackers, magic users, and support abilities. Learn enemy weaknesses with elemental spells and status effects instead of relying on normal attacks alone.
In the World of Ruin, recruit optional characters and recover key equipment before attempting the final assault on Kefka’s Tower. Save frequently before major dungeons, because the tower’s three-party structure requires several prepared groups.
Meet the cast
A young woman with a mysterious connection to magic whose identity and powers drive the central conflict.
A treasure hunter and member of the Returners who protects people important to him.
A former Imperial general who joins the resistance after rejecting the Empire’s methods.
A dangerous Imperial clown and primary antagonist whose plans threaten the world.
The king of Figaro and an inventor who supports the Returners with technology and diplomacy.
Before you begin
Check every town for relics, armor, spells, and hidden passages; Zozo in particular contains misleading clues and important progression.
Keep several characters equipped with healing or defensive Espers before entering the Floating Continent and Kefka’s Tower.
Final Fantasy III (USA) Rev 1 is a Super Nintendo ROM hack by Zeemis, identified in the supplied title as version 1.0 of Final Fantasy - Revelations. It is based on the North American release of Final Fantasy VI, a story-driven Japanese role-playing game built around Terra Branford, the Returners, and the Empire’s attempt to control magic. The underlying game combines turn-based battles, exploration across towns and dungeons, an extensive playable cast, and the Active Time Battle system. Its World of Balance and World of Ruin provide distinct phases of progression. The original Final Fantasy III received strong critical praise for its soundtrack, character writing, and large-scale narrative; reliable public information about this specific hack’s release history and reception is limited.
