How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective across six urban stages, each ending with a boss. Players move horizontally and vertically within the playfield, defeat groups of enemies, and advance through Metro City locations.
Punches, jumps, throws, character-specific special attacks, and found weapons form the core combat system. Players can pick up food for health, weapons for temporary advantages, and score items. One or two players can cooperate, with each character offering different speed, reach, and power.
Plan your run
Learn enemy attack patterns and avoid fighting large groups in the center of the screen. Use throws to interrupt dangerous opponents and save the character's special attack for crowded situations.
Pick up weapons when they are safe to use, but do not rely on them near stage transitions. In two-player games, coordinate positioning so one player does not accidentally strike the other, and prioritize enemies with projectiles or fast attacks.

Final Fight is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed and published by Capcom for arcades in 1989. Players choose from former street fighter Cody Travers, ninja Guy, or Metro City mayor Mike Haggar to rescue Haggar's daughter Jessica from the Mad Gear Gang. The game emphasizes close-range combat, environmental weapons, throws, and cooperative two-player action. Its large sprites, responsive attacks, memorable bosses, and detailed urban stages made it one of Capcom's defining arcade brawlers. Final Fight received strong historical recognition and became an important influence on later beat 'em ups, while also spawning sequels and numerous home adaptations.
