How it plays

How does The Flintstones play?

The game uses a side-view perspective. Fred moves through linear platforming stages, avoids hazards, defeats enemies with his club, and collects useful items while trying to reach the end of each area.

Stages are built around jumps, ledges, moving obstacles, and simple enemy patterns. Progression follows a sequence of levels rather than a branching map, with challenge coming from platform placement, enemy encounters, and limited room for mistakes. The Genesis release is a single-player game with no documented alternate campaign mode.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play The Flintstones?

Learn the timing of each jump before moving quickly through a stage. Keep Fred near the center of the screen when possible so approaching enemies and hazards can be seen early.

Use the club conservatively and prioritize safe landings over collecting every item. When an obstacle repeats, observe its movement pattern first; many difficult sections become manageable once the correct jump rhythm is established.
