The loaded Sega Genesis mapping takes priority over generic labels.
How it plays
Fly through horizontally scrolling stages, fire at enemy insects, collect weapon upgrades, and defeat large bosses. The game uses straightforward shooter movement with changing enemy patterns and projectile pressure, while power-up selection determines how effectively the player can cover the screen.
Plan your run
Keep the fighter away from the screen edge, learn the entry pattern of each insect formation, and choose upgrades that give reliable coverage rather than chasing a risky item. Practise boss movement in short attempts and preserve a state before a difficult stage when supported.
Insector X is the Japanese Mega Drive version of Taito's insect-themed horizontal shooter, published for the console by Sage's Creation. The player controls a small insect fighter through stages filled with mechanical or mutated insect enemies. The Mega Drive conversion has its own regional presentation and should be kept separate from the USA image.
