Judge Dredd
The protagonist, a heavily armed law officer of Mega-City One who enforces the city’s strict legal code.
How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective and presents a sequence of action stages. Dredd moves through urban and industrial environments, defeats enemies, avoids hazards, and reaches the end of each scenario.
Progression is based on completing stages and surviving increasingly demanding encounters. The player must combine movement, jumping, weapon use, and positioning rather than relying on a single attack. The Genesis version is a single-player experience.
Plan your run
Learn enemy positions and avoid rushing into groups. Use the available space to attack from a safe distance, and look carefully before crossing platforms or entering narrow areas.
Preserve health by treating hazards and ambushes as part of the stage layout. Repeating difficult sections is often more effective than making rapid progress without learning their patterns.

Judge Dredd is a side-scrolling action game developed by Probe Entertainment and published by Acclaim Entertainment for the Sega Genesis in 1995. It is based on the long-running British comic strip and places the player in the role of Dredd, a law officer enforcing order in the violent future metropolis of Mega-City One. The game combines platforming, shooting, and close-range combat. Dredd patrols hostile environments, confronts criminals and other threats, and uses weapons associated with the Judge system. Its reception was mixed: the comic setting and varied action were appealing, but reviews commonly criticized uneven controls, difficulty, and technical limitations.
