How it plays

How does Karate Blazers play?

Karate Blazers uses a side-view scrolling perspective. The objective is to advance through each stage, defeat groups of enemies, and overcome a stage boss before continuing to the next area.

Players move their fighter around the playfield, attack at close range, jump over threats, and use available special attacks or weapons when provided. Enemies enter from both sides and can surround the player, making positioning important. The arcade version supports cooperative multiplayer, with credits and cabinet configuration determining the available player count.

Progression is stage-based rather than experience-based. The player improves primarily through practice, item use, and learning enemy patterns; there is no known character-level system.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Karate Blazers?

Stay near the center of the screen so enemies cannot easily trap you against an edge. Clear one side before switching targets, and avoid attacking blindly when several opponents are approaching.

Use jumps and movement to separate groups, then punish enemies during their recovery animations. Save any powerful attack or useful item for dense formations and bosses rather than spending it on isolated enemies.

In cooperative play, avoid standing on the same horizontal line as your partner when enemies surround both of you. Cover opposite sides and regroup after a wave is cleared.
