How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective across compact platforming stages. The player controls one character while a partner is connected by an elastic ring, allowing the partner to be pulled, flung, or used to alter movement.
Players explore themed zones, collect rings, avoid hazards, and reach the goal. The stage order varies through a world-map structure, while bonus and special stages provide additional challenges. Character selection changes the available movement style, but the tether remains central to progression.
Plan your run
Learn to control the elastic partner rather than treating the ring as a simple restriction. Pulling the partner back can create launch force, while positioning both characters carefully helps with high platforms and hazards.
Explore each zone instead of rushing directly to the goal. Ring collection, safe movement, and choosing a character suited to the stage are generally more reliable than relying on speed alone.

Knuckles' Chaotix is a 1995 platform game developed and published by Sega for the Sega 32X. It follows Knuckles and his allies as they attempt to stop Dr. Robotnik from exploiting a powerful amusement-park system on Carnival Island. The game combines traditional side-scrolling platforming with a distinctive tether mechanic linking the player character to a partner. Stages emphasize momentum, vertical movement, and experimentation rather than a strictly linear route. Its unusual physics, colorful presentation, and technically ambitious effects attracted attention, although the tether system divided players and the limited 32X audience affected its visibility. It is now regarded as an interesting Sonic spin-off with ideas that were not widely reused in later games.
