How it plays

How does Matrimelee play?

Matrimelee is a side-view one-on-one fighting game. The objective is to defeat an opponent by reducing their life bar before the round timer expires. A standard match is divided into rounds, with the first fighter to win the required number taking the bout.

Players move in eight directions, jump, crouch, guard, use four attack strengths, and perform character-specific special and desperation techniques. Arcade progression consists of successive computer-controlled matches, with difficulty and opponents increasing through the route. Versus play allows two players to fight directly.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Matrimelee?

Learn the range and recovery of the normal attacks before relying on special moves. Use low attacks and throws to challenge blocking opponents, then punish missed attacks with the fastest reliable button.

Save desperation techniques for confirmed openings or a decisive round. Stay aware of the screen edge, because corner pressure limits movement and makes repeated defensive habits easier for the opponent to exploit.
