How it plays
The game uses a two-dimensional side view. Mega Man selects Robot Master stages from a menu, reaches each boss, and gains that boss's weapon after victory.
Stages contain platforms, hazards, enemies, secret paths, and optional collectibles. Mega Man can walk, jump, slide, shoot, and charge his weapon. Rush Power and Rush Jet are combined into the Power and Jet Adapters, which change movement and attack abilities. Defeating bosses creates weapon weaknesses that can make later encounters easier.
Plan your run
Learn each stage's hazards before rushing forward, especially in rooms with disappearing platforms or conveyor belts.
Use Robot Master weaknesses to shorten boss fights, and save the Power Adapter for situations where its heavy attack or charged movement is useful. Search suspicious walls and alternate routes for energy, weapon capsules, and hidden items.

Before you begin

The Jet Adapter is useful for controlled horizontal movement, but it cannot replace normal jumping everywhere.
Mega Man 6 is a side-scrolling action-platformer developed by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It follows Mega Man as he enters an international robot tournament organized by the mysterious Mr. X, only to uncover another threat to the world. Players run, jump, slide, charge the Mega Buster, and copy defeated Robot Masters' weapons. The game keeps the series' stage-based structure while adding branching routes and the Rush Adapter suits. Released in 1993, it was the final NES Mega Man game released in Japan and received generally positive attention for its polished controls, inventive stages, and approachable difficulty, although some players found it less challenging than earlier entries.
