How it plays
The game is viewed from a side-scrolling 2D perspective. Mega Man runs, jumps, slides, charges his Mega Buster, and fires at enemies while navigating hazards, moving platforms, ladders, and environmental puzzles.
Players select Robot Master stages from a central menu. Defeating a boss grants a special weapon, and boss weaknesses encourage experimenting with the weapon inventory. The adventure also includes fortress stages, minibosses, optional collectibles, and limited areas where Rush provides additional mobility or utility.
Plan your run
Study each stage before spending weapon energy. Robot Master weaknesses make several boss fights much easier, so test newly acquired weapons against bosses and troublesome enemies.
Use the Mega Buster's charge shot for regular threats, slide under large attacks, and search side paths for bolts and other upgrades. Save Rush abilities and weapon energy for fortress stages, where checkpoints and recovery opportunities are more limited.

Mega Man 8: Metal Heroes is a 1996 action-platform game developed and published by Capcom for the original PlayStation. It continues the classic Mega Man formula: choose stages, defeat Robot Masters, acquire their weapons, and use those abilities to overcome later challenges. The game presents a colorful 2D adventure with animated story sequences, voice acting, hand-drawn characters, and a soundtrack built for the 32-bit era. Mega Man investigates a powerful robot discovered after a space battle and again faces Dr. Wily. Reception was generally positive, with praise for its presentation, controls, and variety, although some players criticized its voice acting and a few uneven stage designs.
