How it plays

How does Metro-Cross play?

The camera looks down on a scrolling obstacle course as the automatically moving character travels toward the finish. The player steers around hazards, jumps over barriers and gaps, and uses acceleration to maintain speed while collecting useful items.

Courses are divided into timed stages. Reaching the goal before time runs out advances the game, while collisions and poor positioning consume valuable time or momentum. Later stages demand more precise steering and faster reactions.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Metro-Cross?

Keep a clear line through each course instead of making unnecessary corrections. Accelerate on open stretches, but approach barriers and gaps with enough control to jump or steer safely.

Learn the placement of recurring obstacles and prioritize survival over optional pickups when the timer is low. Anticipating hazards is more reliable than reacting at the last moment.

The unnamed athlete controlled by the player. He is defined less by story than by his agility and speed through the game's hazardous urban courses.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use acceleration on straight sections, then release or adjust your line before dense obstacle groups.

  2. 2

Treat each stage as a route-learning challenge; memorizing hazard patterns improves consistency.
