How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. The selected Ranger moves through linear stages, defeats Putty Patrollers and other enemies, avoids hazards, and reaches a boss encounter at the end of each area.
Players can jump, attack, and use the Ranger's weapon while advancing through the stages. Rangers can morph into their suited forms, improving their combat capability for the remainder of the stage. The campaign is structured as a sequence of missions based on the television series, with larger enemies and bosses providing the main progression points.
Plan your run
Learn the reach and timing of each Ranger's weapon before committing to close-range attacks. Jump over groups when advancing is safer than fighting every enemy.
Save special attacks for crowded encounters and bosses. During boss fights, prioritize avoiding attacks and punish openings rather than repeatedly attacking at close range.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a side-scrolling action game developed by SIMS and published by Bandai for the Sega Genesis in 1994. Based on the first season of the television series, it follows the Power Rangers as they battle Rita Repulsa's forces across urban streets, construction sites, and other danger-filled locations. The game combines platforming with beat-'em-up combat. Players choose from the original five Rangers, each with a different weapon and fighting style, and can later use the team's morphing powers during the adventure. Its straightforward action and recognizable presentation made it a notable home-console adaptation, although its short length and relatively simple mechanics received more mixed attention than the television series itself.
