How it plays
Ms. Pac-Man is viewed from above. Each stage requires clearing every pellet from a maze while avoiding Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Sue.
The game is primarily a single-player score-attack experience. There is no conventional story campaign or permanent character progression; advancement comes from surviving successive rounds and improving score.
Plan your run
Use corners and corridor turns to break line-of-sight rather than running directly ahead of a ghost.
Save power pellets for moments when several ghosts are nearby, and collect fruit only when the route is safe. Learn the tunnel entrances and the timing of ghost releases on each maze.
Avoid clearing the final pellets too quickly if doing so leaves you trapped by the remaining ghosts.
Meet the cast
The player-controlled character who clears mazes, collects fruit, and temporarily hunts vulnerable ghosts.
The red ghost who aggressively pursues Ms. Pac-Man.
The pink ghost who attempts to intercept Ms. Pac-Man's route.
The cyan ghost whose movement is affected by both Ms. Pac-Man and another ghost.
The orange ghost who patrols and pursues Ms. Pac-Man.
Before you begin
Watch the ghosts before committing to a corridor.
Use the side tunnels to escape pursuit.
Prioritize survival over fruit when the maze is nearly clear.
Ms. Pac-Man is a maze-based arcade action game developed and published by Namco for the Sega Genesis in 1991. It expands the Pac-Man formula with changing maze layouts, moving fruit bonuses, and more unpredictable ghost behavior. The player guides Ms. Pac-Man through enclosed mazes, eating pellets while avoiding four pursuing ghosts. Power pellets temporarily reverse the danger, allowing ghosts to be chased for points. The game is designed for short, repeatable sessions, but its escalating speed and enemy patterns demand increasingly precise movement. Originally celebrated as a strong evolution of Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man remains one of the most recognizable arcade games of its era, and the Genesis version presents that familiar design in a home-console format.
