Matches are viewed from a top-down or elevated field perspective. The objective is to score more goals than the opposing national team before time expires, while preventing attacks and protecting the goal.

Players move the selected footballer, pass, shoot, challenge for possession, and reposition teammates during open play. The principal structure is tournament-based, with successive matches determining advancement and the eventual winner. Multiplayer competition is available through the arcade cabinet, subject to the machine's configuration.

Build attacks with short passes instead of repeatedly carrying the ball through defenders. Change the point of attack when the defense closes the center, and shoot promptly when a clear lane opens.

Defend by staying between the ball and the goal, then challenge when the opponent takes a poor touch. Preserve possession late in close matches and avoid unnecessary fouls or risky forward passes.
