Sun Wukong
The Monkey King, a central Journey to the West hero who fights with agile attacks and supernatural techniques.
How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. Players advance through linear combat stages, defeat groups of enemies, collect useful items or magical resources, and confront large bosses at the end of areas.
The playable party is drawn from the Journey to the West cast. Combat is built around movement, normal attacks, jumping, character-specific techniques, and cooperation in multiplayer. Progression comes primarily from clearing stages and learning enemy patterns rather than from a persistent role-playing system.
Plan your run
Learn the timing and reach of each character's normal attacks before spending magical resources. Keep moving around enemy groups instead of allowing several foes to surround the party.
Save powerful techniques for dense encounters and bosses. In cooperative play, divide targets between players and revive or protect a fallen partner when the game allows it.

Oriental Legend Special is an arcade action beat-'em-up developed and published by International Games System (IGS). It adapts the Journey to the West tradition into a side-scrolling combat adventure in which a party of legendary pilgrims fights through supernatural enemies and stage bosses. The game supports cooperative arcade play and emphasizes direct melee attacks, special techniques, and the use of collected magical abilities. Its colorful 2D presentation and mythological setting distinguish it from more realistic belt-scrolling fighters. It is generally remembered by arcade players as a distinctive IGS production, although its international documentation and release details are limited compared with better-known genre staples.
