How it plays
Pac-Man is viewed from an isometric perspective and must clear each maze by eating all regular pellets. Four ghosts patrol the paths, while fruit and other bonus items provide extra points.
Pac-Man can jump over ghosts and some hazards. Power pellets temporarily make the ghosts vulnerable, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for increasing bonus scores.
The game progresses through a sequence of maze stages with changing layouts and increasing pressure. It is primarily a single-player arcade challenge focused on score, survival, and efficient route planning.
Plan your run
Learn each maze before prioritizing score. Clear nearby pellet routes while keeping an escape path open, and avoid entering narrow corridors when several ghosts are approaching.
Save power pellets for situations where they solve a dangerous approach or allow multiple ghost captures. Jumping is useful for crossing an enemy, but it does not replace planning around corners.
Take fruit when the route is safe, then return to efficient pellet clearing. On later stages, watch ghost spacing carefully and avoid spending jumps too early.

Before you begin

Do not chase fruit if it forces you into a dead end.
Power-pellet ghost captures award increasing points during the same frightened period.
Pac-Mania is a 1987 arcade maze-action game developed by Namco and later adapted for the Sega Genesis. It retains the familiar premise of guiding Pac-Man through enclosed mazes, eating every pellet, collecting fruit, and avoiding pursuing ghosts. Its defining change is an isometric, three-dimensional viewpoint that lets Pac-Man jump over enemies, giving the classic formula a more spacious and timing-focused feel. The Genesis version brings the arcade concept to a home console with multiple maze stages and familiar bonus items. Critics and players generally regarded Pac-Mania as an inventive update to the established series, although the angled perspective and added jumping make it less immediately simple than the original Pac-Man.
